Long day

But totally worth the extra km today

Nice to sleep in a real bed, i had some chafing to take Care of last night, seems to be ok now. The breakfast is nice, and i make shure to eat a’lot.

I’m going to a camping Ground just outside Brunizaed, so it should be a short 20km day, with only one big climb, first i have to find my way to the other side of town, and locate the trail. somehow it is always harder to find my way around town than finding the right trail in the mountains. The trail is actually easy to find thru the city, there are the red-White-red blazes around, you just have to look for them!

There are mtb tire marks all over the trail, and i can’t help to wander how i would be like to go full speed down these nice and steep sections of the trail. I pass an old House, apparently it’s an hireloom and is well taken care off, there is a nice gras field.. it would be great to camp here! Properly not legal.

Looking back, i walked that ridge yesterday

I end up on a wide gravel road, it’s nice for a change. Yesterday i decided to try to bring some Chips instead of all the sweet i have been eating thus far, and it is super nice, i wish i have tried this before!

At the small town .... , and it is super small, barely 10 houses, the trail leaves the dirt road and heads straight into the dense forest and up the mountain, you could properly camp right here at the outskirts of the town!

Gravel road

The trail is nice and very diverse, steep end muddy, open and green, hard and narrow, i like this. I have a small break and enjoy my surroundings.

Dirt road again, up and pass the treeline, i have a break at a chalet, and almost forget the trekking poles again, i’m getting close to the Col, and the trail turns narrow and steep. After 30mins of steep Rocky climb i reach the col... by far the easiest so far, and the view isn’t that spectacular... i’m getting used to better views 😉

Only 45min to the col

I check my guide book, i have made a note in it, that there is a lake ca 8k away where it looks like it would be possible to camp? But i don’t know for sure!

I take the chance, and continue down toward Les Maisons where the trail leaves the road. It’s kind’a weird not to know where i’m gonna stay tonight? It freaks me out a bit, and walking on the road to the small town i keep looking for places to camp... just in case!

One of the best camp areas ever

I have a sandwich and an orangina at a chalet, it nice to just sit and eat Real food for a change, the waiter is friendly and i end up takling to her a bit, just to find out that my intended camp spot for tonight is indeed a super nice area, where people go to see the beautifull lake and sourroundings.... i’m happy and can’t wait to get there!

The town i actually 2 small towns allmost connecting, at the second town the trail leves the road, then thru the backyard of som chalets, and then i’m all alone again.. and the trail is nice thru forrest, only to open up at a super small town, where i get some much needed water, i’m getting tired and check my position... i’m only 1km from the lake, i should be able to see it, but can’t? The last km seems to last forever, and then all of a sudden. I’m there - and it’s lovely and beautifull, there are quite a few people around, and a couple of cars here and there. It’s gonna be crouded tonight?

I take ma pack off and search the sourrounding for a camp spot, as i return i notice that all the people ar leaving? And After 10mins i’m all alone... sweet

I find a sweet spot to pitch my tent, make som dinner and enjoy the silence and seclusion fully! I more the tent a bit to a better spot, just before i go to sleep!
